Dell cut prices back in early DEC. as per their news release......

WHY ? WHY? WHY?

I'll tell you.... If Christmas sales are short of expectation you have to start cutting prices to increase movement.... Cut prices and you cut into margins......

These cuts are early signs of the 40% growth built into DELL's share price will be to much for the box maker to keep up with.

Note: the rallies in MSFT, DELL, BAY, TECH's etc. and even the Small guys like ORBKF are with LOW LOW LOW volume and are just rallies from oversold conditions. Remember one thing, when the news is the way it is,,,, The Jan. effect coming before Jan.,,,, is a good indication that we have already seen the Jan. efffect.

The best thing about the last three days is that fact that no one is warning that the entire rally sports no volume with big price movement.

INTC sets the pace for the NEW YEAR.....YOU only cut prices because you see your unchallenged product is not moving.....

INTC is telling you the Product is not moving to the expected volume.

How can you keep comparing Dell to MU, WDC etc...? They are
very different, Dell is not in this "paradigm". Would you go
so far as to say that GM, FORD and CHRYSLER would be in trouble
if Firestone, Michelin, Dunlop mis-forcasted and made too many
tires?

Very good point. I may have learned something here.
Would you value C,F,GMat 35 times earnings ?
No wait, I thought I learned something.

GT is to GM as
INTC is to DELL.....I don't think so.

By the way, F did trade at 35 times earnings once apon a time.

INTC wants the P II 233 to be the entrylevel machine to compete with AMD. If dell refuses to participate in this market, it will hurt them.
Yes it cost less to make a simpler machine, but bottom line, you cannot make as much on a $1,000 box as you can on a $2,000 box.
Now can you convince me that margins are higher on $1,000 boxex than $2,000 boxes ?

Key work BOX. a box is a commodity.

Michael Dell has made this mistake before, not going for the low end market, and I am betting that he will do it again. last time the stock droped 70%
