Terrific Post and Link on resurrecting an unbootable system ...

Message 30620904

PW: Having struggled several times to help a friend (and myself a few times over the course of the last decade) boot an unbootable computer, I've gotta say that post is an absolute keeper and worth storing as an image or copying off to a text file and printing out and storing a hard copy and I've done all three. Being a seasoned citizen my memory isn't quite what it was 10 years ago and in between fatalities I forget what I did on the prior occasion when I played Lazarus to a PC.

I've also bookmarked the heidoc.net URL on all 3 of my active desktops (Win 7, Win 8.1 and Win 10). It does indeed look like a Treasure Chest.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think if one borrows a retail copy of a Windows x CD/DVR from a friend or neighbor and doesn't install or attempt a rebuild one can skip the first step of downloading an install CD.

Thanks very much (again).
