At Least Trump Has Support From Gays

Interesting, that's all.

Trump stands accused of political incorrectness because of his contemptuous attitude toward women and his opportunistic pandering to hard line positions on immigration. But he seems to be doing okay with the gays.

Outside of the Fox News/talk radio establishment, the right-wing outlets that have done the most to saddle us with a Trump nomination are arguably Breitbart, Drudge, and Gateway Pundit.

Possibly the most visible writer at Breitbart, as well as the most prominent representative of Trump’s alt-right base, is Milo Yiannopoulos, an extravagantly flamboyant homosexual who makes Elton John look subtle by comparison.

When Matt Drudge gifted a $700,000 house next door to his own Miami home to “ longtime housemate” Juan Carlos Alvarado, people drew the logical conclusion. Despite protesting “ I do not love sex with men,” Drudge has been described as living in a “ glass closet.”

As for Gateway Pundit, proprietor Jim Hoft has come out of the closet in response to Orlando:

“Like most gay Americans, I don’t wear my sexuality on my sleeve…” he wrote in a blog post cross-posted to Breitbart. “I’ve been a conservative activist for years. But today I’m coming out as a conservative gay activist.”

By “conservative,” he means “Trumpian.”

Donald Trump, he argued, was “the one man who can lead this nation and protect all gays… I pray that gays will come back home to the Republican Party…”

They will need to in droves, to replace all the conservatives who have been driven out by Trumpsters.

While exploiting the gullibility of his followers regarding conspiracy theories, the Donald is fond of saying, “ There’s something going on.” I won’t say there is anything going on here, but it is an interesting coincidence that so many of his most aggressive proponents are light in the loafers.

If only he had as much support from the Republican officer holders whose party he hijacked. But even if he did, it wouldn’t prevent the bloodbath that is coming in November.

At least “ Republican LGBT activists” are pleased with the sharp turn away from traditional values. Time will tell whether it lasts past the impending Trump train wreck.

If he gets desperate enough, we may see Trump in one of these.
