Was the armed security guard stationed in the club? Or did he come from somewhere else after hearing gunfire? Ten, I initially read that he was a off-duty cop at the front door until 2AM., when the shift was supposed to end. After that, where he was or what he was doing is unknown to me.

That's all the detail I find about that guard.....here's a minute by minute account from the WSJ and this is all they say about him also..... Around 2 a.m. The shooter opens fire outside Pulse nightclub, engages with an off duty uniformed police officer who was working for the nightclub when the shooting started, and then enters club. More officers arrive and exchange gunfire with the suspect, forcing him to stop shooting and retreat to one of the nightclub’s restrooms.
