I try to think about the policies of these candidates logically and see which ones fits my values. I have no allegiance to any party, as most do here.

For Hillary, I only like her Pro-Choice stand on abortion. Otherwise, I don't know what she stands for outside of the status quo. Lots of political slogans, but little in the way of substance. Economically speaking, Former President, Bill, will run the economy and he did not do a bad job in that respect in the 90s, from what I recall. But NAFTA and other trade deals need to be renegotiated.

For Trump, I like the idea that he will renegotiate trade deals, try to overturn Obama Care, and Common Core. However, his answer to protecting the USA from further acts of terror are simplistic, racial and won't work. Banning all Muslims from coming into this country is not the answer and is wrong. There are very good productive Muslims who work in this country and are very good citizens. I see no reason to deport Muslims back to their former countries. Now Trump has not said he would do this, but that is the next logical step (outside of placing Muslims in detention centers) if acts of terror continue in this country after (if) the immigration ban comes to pass.

As you know, suicide bombers (by definition) sacrifice their life for the sake of terror and they are very difficult to stop. All a suicide bomber needs to do, for instance, is go into Penn Station (in NYC) and start shooting and he will have achieved his goal. There are no metal detectors to prevent the onset of terror.

I don't pretend to have all the answers here. But I am very concerned about civil liberties. That is not something I ever want to place on the back burner. One can win the battle of terror but lose the heart and soul of the country. I realize you may say that Jihad can destroy the heart and soul of a country, but I don't think that is likely here.

The election is a good 4 1/2 months away so a lot can (and will) happen before then. But I don't think most Americans want the tighter security measures that Trump is advocating. And I don't think they are naive or stupid. We all have our visions of America and the direction America should take.
