There you go again. What is it with wingnuts and projection? Just because you have collected a lot of confirmation of you biases does not make you knowledgeable. I am coming to the conclusion that fascism is like a Rorshach for wingnuts. You see what you want to see, in this case that liberals are behind all the bad stuff that happens. So you pick and choose some elements that fit your preconceptions and ignore the rest. Especially the over-arching theme. Hitler too talked about some different things before he came to power. Once in power, he shed them. The thing about fascism is that it isn't ideological in the sense that many of the other 'isms' are. Both Mussolini and Hitler had very little interest in the nuts and bolts of economics. What little they did that could be described as socialism were more along the lines of extending existing social programs that the people liked. As far as they were concerned, the sole reason for the economy was to fuel their war machines. The details were left to the companies to take care of. Everything about fascism was coming to and maintaining power. Nationalism was and is a tool. If strong enough, it keeps people from thinking too deeply and makes it easy to pitch things to the masses. The reason why it is associated with the Right is the nationalism and the emphasis on a strong leader. Whether that person is a dictator or a monarch makes no difference. That is the essence of the Right. That and the concept that some people are just better than others.
