Re-do your numbers. If your costs and revenues are increasing at the same rate it is NOT a zero sum game in hard dollars!

Re: The New York Times piece. The reference was just a throw-away line. It was just that a line... in the usual negative series of articles by the resident Times "expert" on OXHP.

It was like "upon rounding up the usual suspects we come up with a Chinese dinner menu of chioices that the company has. One from column A, two from Columns B.

If Kleinke's vision is correct, Oxford will not exist in its current form in the next century. He argues the HMO is "in the way" and electronic commerce is eliminating the middlemen.

IMHO, Oxford will have to 1) buy caregivers (a loosing proposition) or 2) be bought over by caregivers and operate as a service department of caregivers. In the second alternative it cannot operate as a profit center.
