>>>.What the h*ll is MOYC's CMP Slurries>>

CMP is the process that chip makers use in order to get a microscopically FLAT clean surface on which to put the guts of the microchip. Warped, irregular surfaces do not work. The smaller the chip circuits become, the more important is CMP.

CMP (Chemical-Mechanical Planarization) is done by CMP machines. These machines are made by IPEC SFAM AMAT and a few smaller players.

CMP machines need supplies like pads and polish (polish is called CMP slurry). CMP slurry is what MOYC makes "the BEST of".

CMP slurry has tiny abrasives in it. When the CMP machines "planes" the silicon WAFER smooth, the irregularities are "SANDED" off and the particles are suspended in the CMP SLURRY (like dirty oil in your engine). At some point in this process, the "dirty" CMP SLURRY is disposed of, replaced by fresh (like an oil change).

The CMP machines use about 7 litres per hour. Chip fabrication plants (FABS) are chocked full of expensive tools to get perfect chips. There are hundreds of millions of dollars worth of equipt in the FABS to accomplish this, including CMP machines.

Once the process is "set" the chip-makers will not change it without a major need to do so. Slurries are different. MOYC/NANX's is unique and objectively found to be the best. So, once you get a "customer" for CMP slurry, it is "repeat business" to the "n-th" degree.

CMP Slurry is like gasoline in your tank. It always gets used and you always need more.

MOYC -relative value: If you check the MOYC thread, you can see I follow MOYC very closely.

Here are some facts:

Sh's outstanding: 4.138M Insiders own 2.93M
Market Cap about 32M

Sales $14M

Operating expenses in 97 were 6.3M vs 3.2M due to litig expenses and CMP expenses, traveling to the chip-makers in US and Korea. With a huge market, small cap, small overhead and small float, creaking into the CMP slurry market with a mid-cap chemical co to "whip-up" MOYC/NANX recipe in their labs, their distrib channels, the "up-side" is emormous.

MOYC phone # 800-331-8837

Earnings: '97 (.24) Due to litig expenses
'96 .19
'95 .14
'94 .10
'93 .13

The "thing" that is especially timely is their CMP slurry. They also are a dental supply co (Moyco Union Broach and Thompson Dental). Your dentist should be familiar w them.

They also have a custom abrasive business. Highlights there are in fiber optic cable. Also a BIG near future highlight is custom abrasives for major auto mfg'er on engine parts.
