Just curious, what institutional brokers are you looking at? I feel I am having the same problem and thinking about looking around. Maybe I should go back to Schwab, however I am pissed at the commissions I have paid when there seems to be no reason for them. They make more on the interest on my money when it has sat in their money market account. The commissions represent such a small % of their overall gross profit why do they continue to drive people away?

Maybe I shoudn't be trading fast moving stocks with a web-based
broker.

That may be the key..

I have two brokers one "a high ended very expensive type"
Goldman Sachs...Their execution is great but the commissions $250 plus for 1000 shares is too steep... So I also have an account with E-Schwab... $29 plus and not quite as good execution....

I would recommend a high end discount like E-Schwab...Quit fighting over 1/8 of points...

Regards
Don

What Don fails to realize is just how important the quality of executions is. If you lose just 1/16 of a point in slippage on each trade and you get in and out once a day, for an average $30 stock you will lose 65% of your investment in a year. Don, these are not the costs of trading. Nobody has to give away 2/3 of his investment to MMs and brokers each year just to trade. That's why we are interested in good brokers, Level II quotes, etc. How a supposed good trader doesn't see it is beyond me.

"Quit fighting over 1/8 of points" maybe the worst advice I've heard on SI yet. I guess some people just like to let others steal their money...

Who are you going to trade with, TronicEye?

I want to do the same but have not decided yet.

I am considering Altech, CyberTrader, A.B. Watley and Block

Please tell me what you think?
