why limit it to self defense....
Because it would be the only reason that can be weighed against keeping these weapons out of the hands of criminals, terrorists, and general malcontents.

I'm not concerned about inconveniencing those living in rural areas who use them to hunt critters. I know they are very well-meaning people and are probably the most responsible gun owners out there, but in this day and age, their convenience is less of a priority to me.
