Nonsense. The Articles of Confederation did contain the right to secede. Like a lot of that document, it was realized to be a mistake. It was no accident that the Constitution left that part out when it was drafted. The whole idea that a group of mainly autonomous states could function as a country was one that proved to be unworkable.

His most recent biographer has said that during Lincoln’s administration there were “greater infringements on individual liberties than in any other period in American history.”

Of course, even back then when GOP was first forming, it was composed of the same big business monopolizers, racist, xenophobic Know-nothings-----> just like today!! ;0)
