Here is a news article regarding sometimes Trimble customer American Mobile Satellite beefing up their two-way wireless data network.

biz.yahoo.com

Brief exerpt:

RESTON, Va., and SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Dec. 31 /PRNewswire/ -_ American Mobile Satellite Corporation (Nasdaq:SKYC - news) and Motorola, Inc., (Motorola) (NYSE: MOT - news) today announced a definitive agreement whereby American Mobile will acquire Motorola's ARDIS data messaging business, which owns and operates the nation's first and largest two-way wireless data communications network. When the acquisition is complete, American Mobile will become one of the country's largest roviders of mobile data services to the transportation and field services industries, as well as others that rely heavily on mobile communications.

The article goes on with both SKYC and MOT guys saying that the sky is the limit regarding this area, and that it is on the verge of taking off. They did not say much about GPS other than that is part of SKYC's product.

Do we know if Trimble has sold much to American Mobile lately?

I dont understand why a 20% increase in revenue and tripling of EPS versus Q496 rates a neutral. The earnings leverage to revenue growth is the real story here. I think the Schroeder analyst is missing the boat.

From all accounts Trimble's business is just fine. The firm is working to capacity and backlog is building and the prospects for continued growth look really bright. As an owner of the business I couldn't ask for more.
