"So why havent we seen NT scale effectively beyond 2 processors?"

First off, don't mistake me for some sort of NT
champion. I merely made an observation that a company
basing its next 5 years of computer purchases on
whether or not a system "scales" is dangerous. As
my argument, I used Solaris, which, 5 years ago,
didn't scale.

As for NT scaling, I have seen many different independent
TPC-C numbers using NT on 8-way machines and the results
are very good. So I would argue we have seen NT scale
effectively beyond 2 processors and if you didn't
notice, you weren't paying attention.
