I don't know what they are up to. The odd model number(4212ES) does not fit in with the rest of the product line. Maybe the ES stands for experimental system. <G>

Also sounds like the 4212 is some kind of network computer.
Note that the 4540 w/ k6-233, 3.2 gig and 32 meg RAM is on the shelves at Best Buy. $1099.
Could Compaq be using the Intel chip for the bargain basement? <G>
