I was stuck up at pen point by vicious thugs many a time.

Man did they write some mean.

I think Walden was penned by a man who sought the simple hardships to avoid the hardness of man's cruel society. He was very thoreau in his assessment of what there was to avoid in his detail of what we had to do to in order to be independent. His final thesis was that in any manner of existence we are interdependent and thus never can we escape the clutches of our peers and neighbours.

Primitive man as independent as he was capable of being was driven to associate with the clan. Somewhere in the mix there arose lawyers who took charge on a journey to the eastern boundary of our existence. Not being too technical, they strayed outside the park and it has been downhill ever since from Eden.

My solution is to add to the general confusion and serve no master in his aim of dominance too well.

We have seen the enemy and they is us.
