Eric, please don't think of any stock as a "safe stock". I know that you are really comparing APCC to many of the smaller IPO's out in the market place , even like my own stock "MCSC" which is only a 54 million dollar market cap. My point is, I have lost fortunes thinking that I was "safe" before. In my opinion, the only time you should use the word safe is if you own a stock that is not on margin, you don't need the money for many years and you don't even bother to watch the weekly action in the market place. APCC is still a small stock by many standards.

I'm not trying to pick on you personally Eric, but the guy before your thread talked about margin calls with small stocks and it makes me wonder how many people out there are really betting on the future with margin, credit cards, home equity loans etc.... Maybe the word is complacency, exhurberance, euphoria, bubble, inexperience. How many people out there really know how to lose money, most people don't know, that is how the game works. I am just old enough to have experienced trading during short bear markets, but nothing like the early 70's. The 28 year old mutual fund managers who have been "hero's" over the past few years are going to get spanked like little babies over the next couple of years. It is not going to be fun to watch but the fund managers from the 70's who are experienced and know how to handle a losing market are going to do well over this coming bear market.

APCC is a great company and a great stock, unfortuneately it is going to be taken out back and shot like most of the other high tech stocks during January. It will be interesting to me to see the mood of the "new investor" when their stocks drop 60% in one day, talk about margin calls, there won't be any margin left to call. People will have to borrow on credit cards to pay brokers, sell their houses or go bankrupt. I suggest any of you who are on margin, and particularly those of you who can't afford it or have families, to sell your margin positions on friday morning, this could be your last chance. I am not guaranteeing anything, I don't get paid for this. but my money for right now is in pretty safe places, except of course for my MCSC stock which is restricted until April of this year and is money that I don't need anyway.

As for the power business, our business with Symetra is really taking off. WE have already sold 3 units in over a month and have many on the table. This is going to be a great product for my company as well as APCC. As far as I am concerned this product could be the future for APC. If this new product really takes off as I predict, APCC could at least double in the next few years. Until then, I have lowered my buy stops to 13 bucks a share. Once APCC hits that Ievel I will begin "large" weekly purchases of APCC until it appears a bottom is in, which could take a couple of years if the bear hits as I predict over the next couple of years. For what it is worth, "The Bear is here right now". Massive deflation is on the way, buy oils, utilities and some precious metals.

Here's to a great 1998 for all, and I wish all you peace and prosperity for you and your families.

Take care and keep in touch. I've had alot of emails lately from people on this group which has been nice. If any of you care to privately share your market thoughts or APCC please email me at

Take care,

Phillip
