George/All

This thread looks like it is getting off to a great start. You (George) have started something here that a number of people are interested in participating in. I think that it is important that we **stay focused** on those 10-12 stocks that are most likely to be putting up some decent numbers in the next 6 months/year time frame. To that end, I think that idea of a stock index is good. I would volunteer to do it, but I do not have a spread sheet program, nor do I have the time because of other projects. I will however offer my _limited T/A expertise - a role that I will happily perform, but which I will be equally happy to defer to someone more experienced. I have e-mailed somebody with excellent TA skills, who I am hoping will have a look at our stocks now and again. Still waiting for his reply.

One of my concerns, (maybe this is not my place to say, but I'll voice my concern anyway) is that we do not inundate George with all sorts of requests to look at every diamond play under the sun. It is a daunting task to follow a few of these stocks effectively, never mind the dozens that exist. It seem to me that we have established a pretty good list already - see:

siliconinvestor.com

and we should stay focused on this group - _unless there is clear evidence another stock is on to something.

In any event, my 2 cents.

Take care all .... looking forward to our little diamond hunting adventure !

George, or anyone else interersted in starting a diamond stock index. Check out Alan Vennix's posts on the New Western Desert-Dirt Goldrush thread:

Message 2954394

Alan has been tracking a basket of 5 gold stocks for the past year, using three different purchase strategies or criteria : an equal number of shares, an equal dollar amount, and % market capitalization.

A similar model might work very well for your purposes. Someone just has to commit to keeping it up to date....
