R-Man, I agree with that analogy completely.

I was a proud owner of some socal real estate during that period.
from early '89 to mid '89 I saw my house jump almost 30% in value. Unlike stocks though, I couldn't sell <g>

Russell:

>>This market reminds me of the real estate market in the late 80's

I hear ya! I did it in stocks in'69. All those graphs heading upward and to the right at about a 45 degree angle from the horizontal. I keep saying it can't go on much longer, now getting the spine-chilling feeling now and then that maybe this is a new era! My ageing but well functioning cerebrum won't permit me to really accept that nonsense, though.

Good analogy about the Real Estate Market and the rationalizations that go along with all bubbles, including this one.

Best wishes for you in the coming new year.

Jack

Russell, just remember one thing, the same demographic group that created the demand in the housing market, is now and has been creating the demand in the equities market. Most have a good 10 to 20 year time horizon before retirement and realize the time is NOW to build the retirement portfolio. bp
