Uh no. That wasn't his opinion. That was an actual fact that there was no intent. Did she turn documents over to Putin? Did she pass them to a handler for the Chinese? Did she hand them over to anybody who didn't have a security clearance high enough for those documents? Did someone pay for access to those documents? The judgement call was whether or not to recommend prosecution for things for which there is no evidence of malfeasance. You know, the sort of things DAs routinely do when the cops bring something to them based on their gut feeling that someone committed the crime. In this case the Republican leadership wanted charges to be filed regardless if there was a case or not. Comey was aware enough to realize that would have ended his career. Can't fault him for that. There will be lots of things to learn at the election. One will be there just aren't enough angry white dudes to elect the Cheeto Jesus. That pissing off every group but angry white dudes was a tactical error. The masses just are not as sheep-like as you believe. So polish up your guns. This election will be your chance to act on your belief that the Founders wanted you to commit treason when things don't go your way. Because they won't.
