I've had the same experience. I almost always use Enterprise. A month ago I used Hertz in DC. They gave me an bulky minivan because it was all they had and I didn't have time to wait half an hour for them to bring in more vehicles (I'm a terrible driver so I usually drive intermediates). Sure enough, I scraped the side of the car in one of those ridiculously small DC lots. Luckily the claim was minor, but it still deterred me from ever again using Hertz.

Carl Icahn doubles stake in Hertz Global

Carl Icahn doubles his stake in Hertz Global (NYSE: HTZ) after watching the company's share price crumble after earnings.

Icahn how holds 33.77% of all Hertz shares.

SEC Form 13D
----------------------------------------------------------

In the report the company took a larger than expected depreciation adjustment for their compact & mid-size cars. Also, I wonder if Uber and similar car sharing apps may/could be impacting revenue growth.

No interest in this one even at a 50% discount.
