Those symbols show up as emojis for me, that post looks like this:



They are emoji I've seen on Apple products, like my iMac and iPhone.

Unexpected characters. . .

If you "Copy and Paste" those characters into Notepad, then try to save the file as text, Windows will give you a warning message telling you that your text contains Unicode, and suggest you save your file using one of the formats designed to handle Unicode.

Since the video is about some Russian guy, I'd expect a few of the comments to have been created by systems supporting Russian; hence, the odd behaviour of the text when displayed on machines configured for U.S. English.
