This is why you should get all your licenses (drivers, vehicle registration and CCW) out BEFORE the officer approaches you.

Seems unusual to me that nearly the first thing out of the cop's mouth was "Do you have a gun?"
In the handful of times I've been pulled over I've never been asked that.

But maybe that's what the cops should do. And if the answer is yes have a standard protocol that all police are trained on and follow and that all permit courses teach.

If we don't figure out a way to get this right I guarantee you we will have laws outlawing guns in cars.
