The temperature has changed by 1.51 degrees C (2.7 degrees F) since we began releasing fossil carbon into the atmosphere, not 0.002. The only things going off the deep end are Greenland and Antarctic glaciers. OTH, "going off the shallow end " describes what is happening in Miami, due to sea level rise (from the glaciers going off the deep end, doncha know).
