Venkie.....this thread is great for news updates/articles, informative insight, and friendly conversation, but if Jim thinks that this thread influences market/stock trends, well then, I've got a bridge for sale. Stephen

Venkie,

I am sorry if My comments on this thread have bothered you. My intent is not to convince the longs to sell. I know that would be very difficult in this forum. Your post does tell me that some longs may be thinking twice about their position. My main reasons for posting here at all are to get a better feel for what is going on @ Dell and in the minds of the folks that own the stock. It would seem that there are only about 10-12 folks that have responded to me, but they are all very entrenched in their position. Why is that important, From my 3 days here, I now feel certain that DELL will trade in its channel. I also expect that it will take a very real event to change this. Not just rummors or real events at other companies. But that event probably will have an impact simmilar to ORCL. This is only my opinion. It does not mean that it will happen. But what you think is opinion also, It does not have to happen that way.

I do not expect any of these companies to disapear. I am sure that the people at NVLS will work very hard to get through the rough spot that the AP is creating. It is the stock prices that I am concerned with. That is where I will or will not make money. But I think it can be helpfull to get an idea of what some of the investors are thinking.

If you look at my posts you will find that I generaly show up for a few days and then dissapear.

As for chearing up, I am up. I expect 1998 to be a wonderful year. There will be new leaders. Some of the old ones will loose favor some will not.
I just happen to think that shorting stocks that I expect to become out of favor can be very profitable if done right.

America has much to offer the world, but America can also be a very tough place to survive at times. It is those tough times that bring out the best in us.

Happy New Year.

Jim

I do not know what is going to happen any more than the bulls do. It is only an opinion about the future.
