Going directly to the source I see Islamic extremism is the source of the largest terrorist attack (by death toll), 3 of the top 4, 23 out of the top 31, etc. Even limiting things to just the US its half of the top 10 (and about 93% of the deaths from the top ten incidents). Even post 9/11 (the selection used by those who want to discount Islamic terrorism compared to other threats, but dropping out the biggest terrorist attack), and US only; the deadliest three attacks, and 5 of the top 6 were Islamic terrorism.
