Sterling Construction Co. Inc. (STRL) peeled off 30% of remaining shares @ 6.31/share

Sterling Construction Company, Inc. Reports 2016 Second Quarter Results

This Graham value Buy is paying off after holding almost 20 months. My last Buy was 2/2015 @ $2.75/share. Company reported earnings today which reflect the restructure of debt (w/ secondary), negotiation of new contracts providing for higher margins (over 8% vs 2%) and revenues growing again back above 2014 levels but now EPS is much higher.

This is no longer undervalued by the GN model but I continue to hold a stub position looking for continued growth in EPS (w/ a nice backlog of contract work).

Stock is now a source of funds for other undervalued Buys.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (CMTL) - peeled off 20% @ $21.45/share

I bought this lot of shares 7/2016 @ $13.32/share when the GN model valued these shares at $15/14/share. Today's sale represents a 60% gain from my Buy price.

The current GN valuation for CMTL is $13.70/share showing that the GN valuation has actualy fallen more as a result that EPS has dropped since my original Buy. The last 2 quarters were a turnaround in EPS and more importantly Book-to-Bill has started to increase as have margins.

This is a case of reversion to the mean EPS (if you look at the past 5 years) and there could still be a ways for the stock to run (maybe back to the $35/share area. It's all about future EPS and their growth based on all the new government contracts they appear to be landing.

I like the sector (high technology security) for Home Land defense. I still hold 70% of my orginal position and will be monitoring EPS and new orders. The GN model value s/d actually be increasing as new EPS get updated in the Yahoo Finance database.
