Finally. Looks like Erdogan didn't purge enough officers to save him.

Yes, a wide open situation in Turkey. Right now, "nobody knows"

What I find incredible is how anyone in today's world could possibly organize anything of this scope and magnitude in secrecy. The world has become a massive network of spying and surveillance where all communications among its denizens are constantly monitored and controlled. How on Earth was a secret military coup planned, organized, and orchestrated without multiple tipoffs galore? Imagine how many people had to know in order for this to happen. Something isn't adding up, or the reigns are not as tight as we are led to believe.

Trump wasn't supposed to win the nomination. Brexit wasn't supposed to happen. Military coups in today's era of massive surveillance aren't supposed to happen in a (borderline) EU country like Turkey. In addition to us living in an era of massive surveillance, it would seem that we also live in an era of significant state propaganda and disinformation, and instability of governments and financial markets is much greater than is widely perceived. It's a dangerous time to be living in this highly volatile world.
