Consider it another way. About 6% of the world's population is buying 50% of the DBMS products (i.e., the US sales). And you cannot even begin to say that the US market is anywhere near fully saturated, because it continues to grow. What does this say about the other 94% of the world, which has GNP generally growing faster than the US. There is a huge potential there, and there are no major DBMS companies outside the US.
