Trump has been 100 percent honest about why it makes no sense for him to release his tax returns: He saw what the liberals did to Mitt Romney. No GOP candidate in his right mind will ever release tax return information again. There is no upside, EVER. Any CPA or tax attorney can rip you to shreds, even with a totally legal return.
