Wm.--Wonderful question! What I learned more than anything, both from the Qdek thread and the Ifmx thread is how we all believe what we wish to be true. Both threads were remarkably optimistic while the companies tanked. It was literally Nero fiddling while Rome burned.

I will now use a square root correction for any optimism--that is I will get the square root of any positive statements. In fact, one of my rules is not to ask my barber if I need a haircut, and asking holders of a stock their opinions is somewhat similar in that WE ALL--INCLUDING ME--BELIEF THAT WHICH WE WISH TO BE TRUE. I no longer look at threads for opinions, but for hard facts. Even then, we should be skeptical.
