"...already substantially developed their own SPD..."
Mercedes had not just substantial development of SPD at the announcement of the S Class in May of 2014,
it had considerable experience with SPD by that time. And, drum roll please, the real introduction at a significant production level will begin in December of 2016 for the V222. If it takes Mercedes 2 1/2 years to get into serious production, how long will it take an OEM just introducing their first model, three-four years or more?

"...'substantially' says it all" in REFR-speak, "not now, later", "soon".

The CEO of REFR has no control on what or when any licensee does or doesn't do. So how can you take what the CEO says in a CC with anything more than a grain of salt? It is not prediction, it is hope and conjecture when Harary talks.
