The reality is that China spends a lot more than that. They still spend a lot less then the US, but not as much less as your post would indicate. Also China's military spending has been growing fairly rapidly.

I'm kinda familiar with those statistics....

What I wonder about them is whether they are based on the same currency valuations.

I cannot believe that the Chinese pay as much to THEIR soldiers as we pay to OURS...

I think the U.S. pays MORE for everything.

So our expenditures are probably really inflated...
