Sounds like the author meant formulas not algorithms

The type of equations discussed appear to be polynomial equations with multiple variables. You may recall that one of the uses of computers in the 1960's was to solve missle targeting problems etc. You ran the program with changed variable data until you solved the equation. Inelegant and brute force. Still being done I see. All it does is prove the equation. God forbid you leave out a variable! (Gosh we forgot to take account of the fact that those non-reuseable containers will end up in the landfill.)

But that's not an algorithm.

I look forward to the day when biological computers run around the body looking for cancer cells to crunch. Mother nature has been running this particular computer program for several billion years. Then it will trully be Intel Inside.
