Cruz has set himself up for 2020. For all the criticism he's received, his steadfast refusal to endorse was probably the smartest thing he did this campaign season. And what an amazing spotlight he had for himself, to make it clear to all he could not get behind Trump. Personally, I love the revenge angle for the attacks on his wife and father he played upon. But revenge had nothing to do with it. It was just business, nothing personal (while he twists the knife, lol).
