New DNC Email Leak is the Final Nail in the Party Unity Coffin

With the convention just days away, a new batch of leaked DNC emails is sure to cause trouble in Philadelphia. The last email leak from hacker Guccifer 2.0, which revealed that at least some Democratic Party leaders favored Hillary Clinton from the outset of the primary, had already ruffled progressive feathers. However, this latest release by Wikileaks could prove devastating.

Just how damning were these new emails?

One, dated May 21st and titled “Bernie Sanders,” from DNC press secretary Mark Paustenbach to communications director Luis Miranda, discusses spreading the damaging narrative that the Vermont Senator’s campaign “was a mess” with the full knowledge that such action could be seen as a conspiracy. Paustenbach writes:

Wondering if there’s a good Bernie narrative for a story, which is that Bernie never ever had his act together, that his campaign was a mess. Specifically, DWS had to call Bernie directly in order to get the campaign to do things because they’d either ignored or forgotten to something critical…It’s not a DNC conspiracy, it’s because they never had their act together.

Another dated May 5th, from DNC CFO Brad Marshall appears to suggest implementing a plan right out of Lee Atwater’s South Carolina politics playbook: getting someone to make an issue out of Sanders’ Jewish heritage in order to sway voters in states like Kentucky and West Virginia. The Republican strategy guru earned his infamy employing this exact tactic against former Democratic State Senator Tom Turnipseed in his 1980 congressional race.

It might may no difference, but for KY and WVA can we get someone to ask his belief. Does he believe in a God. He had skated on saying he has a Jewish heritage. I think I read he is an atheist. This could make several points difference with my peeps. My Southern Baptist peeps would draw a big difference between a Jew and an atheist.

While once again, these leaked emails only serve to confirm what many progressives believed all along, they could not have come at a worse time.

There is a new hashtag making its way around the Bernie Sanders Facebook and Reddit groups about abandoning the Democrats: #Demexit. What’s more, recent polls indicate that roughly half of Sanders’ millennial supporters would vote for a third party in November. These two developments should worry Democrats as Hillary Clinton is only ahead of GOP nominee Donald Trump by 2.7 points according to RealClearPolitics. The former Secretary of State also trails Trump in terms of how trusted she is on the economy—typically the main issue people vote based on.

Compounding matters, news of this leak comes on the very day Clinton was set to boost her numbers with a highly anticipated announcement of her running mate following a contentious GOP convention. Today was meant to be a time for the former Secretary to energize her supporters and provide a clear contrast between the Democrats and the Republicans, but now it appears this news will haunt her.

Party unity seems a thing of the past, and Democrats now officially have no one to blame but their own leaders if Donald Trump wins in November.

WikiLeaks Emails: DNC Approved Fake Trump Ads For ‘Hot Women’ Comfortable With ‘Gropes Under The Meeting Table’

The WikiLeaks cache of 19,000 emails from the Democratic National Committee has only been online for a couple of hours, and already it’s revealing some of the party’s dirty tricks.

In an email dated May 18, 2016, Christina Freundlich, Deputy Communications Director at the DNC proposed that the Democrats impersonate the Trump Organization on Craigslist, placing a fake ad for “hot women” aimed at making the Republican candidate look as sexist as possible.

The email, which can be read below, contains the full text of the fake ad. It includes requirements for employees to “not gain weight on the job,” to “evaluate other women’s hotness,” and be comfortable with a range of illegal workplace sexual harassment including allowing the boss to “grope you under the meeting table.”

The fake ad closes by calling on interested applicants to send their cover letters to “jobs@trump.com.”

This will be a microsite and we still need to send it to Perkins. Since we will be pitching this, need your approval please. Thanks

  • No gaining weight on the job (we’ll take some “before” pictures when you start to use later as evidence)
  • Must be open to public humiliation and open-press workouts if you do gain weight on the job
  • A willingness to evaluate other women’s hotness for the boss’ satisfaction is a plus
  • Should be proficient in lying about age if the boss thinks you’re too old Working mothers not preferred (the boss finds pumping breast milk disgusting, and worries they’re too focused on their children).

We’re proud to maintain a “fun” and “friendly work environment, where the boss is always available to meet with his employees. Like it or not, he may greet you with a kiss on the lips or grope you under the meeting table.

Interested applicants should send resume, cover letter, and headshot to jobs@trump.com
After sending a reminder to her superiors, Freundlich’s ideas was eventually approved by DNC Communications Director Luis Miranda. His response is copied below.

“Yes it is” responded Freundlich.

This is just one of the 19,000-plus Democratic National Committee email files released by WikiLeaks earlier today. The full archive of emails can be browsed at WikiLeaks’ site.
