A dongle included with the iPhone 7 would certainly go a long way toward easing the anger people will feel when they find out the 3.5mm headphone jack is no longer there. Perhaps Apple learned something from the switch to Lighting ports from 30-pin connectors years ago and decided trying to make $20 by selling the adapters instead of including them for free wasn't the best idea.

The up side of a dongle is that perhaps the lightening connector is more reliable than the headphone jack. I find that the jacks tend to go bad so a dongle can be replaced a lot cheaper than the phone.

The other thing about not having a 3.5 jack is I can't use the phone on my blasters or my car stereo. So add $700 onto the cost of an iPhone 7 for me... Not going to happen.
