More interesting stuff from the convention:

K-Bob, I was there, up in the nosebleed seats way over to the side of the stage, so I had a full view of just about the entire arena. I can assure you, the booing was orchestrated. It came mostly from the New York and California delegations, both of which were up front. Also, I heard, but can’t verify, that the RNC floor whips (the guys in the aisles with the day-glow hats) were booing too. In house, we couldn’t hear the end of his speech, so it might be possible that some of them were miked.

I was afraid that he was going to be booed at his entrance, but he was most enthusiastically received and given a long, cheering, standing ovation from the majority of people there. Don’t forget, many of the delegates, alternates, and guests are grass-roots conservatives, and Sen. Cruz’s excellent ground game had recruited many of them, even those committed to other candidates.

While I have to admit that I got tired of being lied to by many of the speakers so I was not present for every speech, what was most noteworthy to me was while Sen. Cruz was speaking, when they were not applauding, the audience was listening in such rapt attention, they were completely silent. It was quieter in the arena then than at any other time that I was present throughout the four days.

Also, Mr. Trump ungraciously upstaged Sen. Cruz by making a slow and showy entrance to his private box just about the time that the booing started, so that started a commotion near the ring side seats at half-court opposite the stage.

When he said yesterday that everyone was booing, and implied that not one person was cheering, since I was standing, applauding and cheering Sen. Cruz when this all erupted (and I could see I was not alone), I can state with all certainty that that is a bald-face lie (Section 219, first row, Level 5). I could see that many people joined me in standing and applauding him as he left the stage.

If no one was cheering as he claims, and everyone was booing, we can infer that they were booing Mr. Trump as well, since some people were reacting to him.

I agree that the GOP doesn’t want us, and only abuses us as a result. The only choice one has when confronted by an abusive relationship is to get as far away from the abuser as possible.

As Sen. Cruz said, vote your conscience
