Let me clarify. You can be as anti-Bernie or anti-anyone you want. And you can campaign for or against whoever you want. And if you are part of that campaign, then you can be as Machiavellian as you want to be. BUT, if you are an official for the party with duties for the party, then you must remain neutral. To do otherwise is abuse of power.

A close analogy is that you can trash talk whatever company you want buy and trade their stocks long, short, whatever. But if you work for SEC or FTC, then you cannot help that company against a rival.

Your statement that it had to be done because sometimes the wrong person wins the nomination was wrong on so many levels, that I don't think I should critique it. I am sure you can think of lots of ways on your own.
