Anyone ever heard of Ramtron? One of Carl Johnson's favorite picks for '98. quote.yahoo.com

Taken from techweb.com

Carl Johnson -- The Semiconductor Market Focus Carl Johnson's trends and
companies to look for in 1998:

1. For 1998, we believe the shares of Teradyne offer investors very
reasonable profit potential. The continued migration to new designs,
especially at the high-performance end of the product line, is forcing
device manufacturers to install the latest test technology. In our view,
Teradyne's product set looks strong across the board, and because it
resides prominently on the leading edge, positions them to benefit from
increasing test-equipment purchases.

2. On the more speculative side of the semiconductor business, we
believe the shares of Ramtron offer an interesting speculation.
Speculative stocks should be taken in small doses, but we see a ramp to
produce ferroelectric memories taking place around the world, and
Ramtron is sitting squarely in the middle of all this activity.

Last year: Carl Johnson said new technologies would rule the day for the
semiconductor sector in 1997. He also said the ramp of 300-millimeter
wafers was the driver of the sector. Johnson picked Photon and Asyst
Technologies as his stocks for 1997. On Photon, Johnson was pummeled as
the stock was halved. On Asyst, Johnson scored big as the stock raced
from about $7 a share to the mid-40s. Asyst has returned many of those
gains, but is trading in the $20 range -- still a healthy gain
