An old problem, herostratic fame sought for is nothing new and not just a function of the media frency of our time. Just met with both my boys and their families in Munich last week and was dumbfounded to find out, that none of them, both with solid college educations, ever heard about Herostratos or even knew the meaning of herostratic fame or the origin of that term going back to Herostratos himself and his self promoting bad dealings aro 300BC! So, assuming that many on this board share my son's lack of knowledge, here the facts - and please note, that this behaviour has it roots aro 2,300 years before TV and other mass media were even invented!!! en.wikipedia.org
