I can't help but mention the quality of German products (as opposed to cheaper jap or american) I've never been disappointed with a German product. They tend to have strict tolerance in products and excellent smart engineering. You're not just paying for the material, but the thinking that goes into making the product safe, long-lasting, intuitive...etc. We still have a German a reel-tape recorder that's 30-40 years old but still working like a charm. No Jap or American product that lasted us that long.
Just my thoughts. My belief now is: most of the time, cheaper is worse.

I think the point is that cheaper wins, not that it is neccesarily better. That's why people still buy millions of crappy American cars instead of buying something that will last 200k miles (like my Audi).

But also important: is more expensive better? What can a $15k SGI machine do for me that a $5k Pentium machine can't? Nothing, and the Pentium can actually do more.
