That doesn't surprise me. The ten companies that pay CEOs the most are probably pretty big companies while the companies that pay CEOs the least are probably smaller with a lot more room to grow (except of course for someone like Sam Walton, who I think got paid a dollar for a number of years, but then he was a founder and so wealthy by that point from Walmart stock that nothing they paid him would have mattered a whit). The law of big numbers catches up with every company at some point.

That isn't to say that the salaries that executives get isn't obscene.
