I think Hillary will get something out of the convention, but it's like Trump is operating in a parallel universe. Remember, he won the nomination with no party support and spending basically no money either. Hillary has it all over him in conventional political operations, but it's not clear if that matters. I was just reading some stuff that said Trump supporters were so alienated, they didn't really expect him to do anything except piss everybody off. Remember George Wallace and "Send Them a Message"? I think that's the essence of Trump, except he's a lot more popular than Wallace ever was.
