If Friday is a repeat of today, we are in really good shape and should start talking about profit taking.

Perhaps we should talk about profit taking, but on the other hand drilling companies have shown a very strong pattern of rising into and through their earnings announcements. Missing out on that move has historically been a big miss. Of course it always depends on the time horizons people are working with. My preference is to allow enough time for the strong fundamentals to work their way into the stock prices. At current prices, I think these companies are still significantly undervalued, so all things considered, I would expect more buying to continue to drive up the prices, particularly once funds get back into the game at the beginning of the year.
Remember, it is just about the only sector that hasn't had earnings warnings or downgrades.
