Thean, I bought some JAN calls back on DEC 15(last 2 day sucker rally!)...went on vacation and watched them get decimated. Sold my SLB for a profit today(finally!). I'll move back in Friday or Monday. these holidays have left me with the feeling that Asian Flu or some other nonsense can strike without warning overnight. Nice little flurry happening in HAL and SLB right now. One hour to go. Will we see buyers or sellers?

Thean, If selling continues this hour I don't like the looks of the candlestick I see forming on SLB.Thoughts?

Ne---50 dma @ 32. Downtrend line is at 30 1/2. If we close above that, which seems likely, we could see 32. Breaking above the 50 dma will be short lived at best though. I sold some of my calls today. Will hold till Fri on the rest. I see a retest of the lows before earnings come out. Good luck!

Thean: IMHO I see retest of lows before earnings. Most drillers closed off their highs today w/ SLB signif. off its highs. In addition, I don't think earnings will drive these stocks to new highs either. Good earnings are already priced in. People are worried about a year from now when earnings slow if oil prices keep declining. For those that look at the quarterly run-up, remember that was during an uptrend. We're in a basing phase now. Earnings did nothing to these stocks during last year's 1st and 2nd qtrs, and they were beating estimates then, too. Still holding my NE, but I don't see any new highs for those s-t traders out there. I took my 5 pt move in NE and sold all of my calls today. What do the charts tell ya, Thean? Time for me to go get roaring drunk!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
