Hmm...given it's only 25% in Thailand I think I'll pass on TVF. They probably have a lot in cash now as well since they'll be redeeming half of their shares in January. Might be a good short term investment if you can buy it at a discount to NAV and tender for NAV.

I read in Barron's today that application was made to the SEC for WEBS on Thailand as well as Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, Phillipines in this region. Hopefully, we'll see all of them issued. There'll certainly be demand for them given the premiums on some of the Asian closed end funds. Should enable new trading opportunities with the various country funds.

In the same Barron's article, a fund manager expressed lots of optimism on Thai stocks and other markets in the region.

However, the Thai fund closed the week at over a 60% premium to NAV. It went as low as 5 this week before increasing to close at 5 3/4. NAV declined slightly from the previous Friday.
