Then I would go after the corps that play the "inversion" game to get taxed at foreign rates

So you are a Trumpist! How would you or Trump be able to stop this? Shall we go it totally alone? In this day and age what constitutes an American company any longer?

Tax EVERY stock trade 2 cents, and make the markets the collectors! Tax cap gains as ordinary income, again with the markets as collectors.

I'm counting on Hillary to do that......my first priority would be to get the guys paying cap gains rates on carried interest, ie the hedge fund managers..... Then I would go after the corps that play the "inversion" game to get taxed at foreign rates.... There are lots more...…

Somehow I don't think Hillary or Trump will do much - but who knows.

I think a good way to raise money via taxes AND do the market a service (!) would be to have a tax - pennies or percentage - of very short term trades - any buy/sell less than a minute apart would be subject to the higher tax, perhaps even related to the time.

This would hurt high frequency trading which can be such a detriment to the market.

For example, if using percentage:
1 minute 0.01%
1 second 0.05%
0.1 s 0.1%
0.01 s 0.5%
0.001 s 1.0%
0.0001 s 5%
0.00001 s 10%
0.000001 s 20% (microsecond)

OMG - do you realize that we are actually talking about something rare on this board - stocks???
Politely???

Watch out, they might throw us off!
