Darbes,

re: " Maybe one upgrade but why do you think they'll get three
upgrades? " Because that is what they have announced. I suggest that you stop shooting from the hip. The answer that I gave was researched and carefully thought out.

They announced Merced over a year ago. And that won't ship until 1999. Besides, why would you use "probably release in the nearby horizon" if your post was so carefully thought out.

And as far as shooting from the hip goes. I try to stay informed as to whats going on in the PC market. But I don't read every press release. Arguing with the Intel-losers is just a fun past time. Besides, you guys are so biased towards Intel that someone has to put you in place. All we ever hear about is Intel this and Intel that. And you always downplay AMD's threat to Intel.

AMD is in a very good position. Their engineers have several generations of independent processor development under their belts and they're doing a pretty good job of innovating within the socket 7 architecture. Why not just shut up and give them an opportunity to execute before bashing everything they do. Sure they've screwed up in the past but they're learning every step of the way. If you weren't so afraid of them, then why would you bash them?
