Does a volatile high beta stock mean it is a bullish stock that you should buy? There are stocks that move all over the place but ultimately go nowhere. And there are stocks that steadily move up or down with relative calm.

We are discussing different things. One has little to do with the other.

There are people who have argued, and there is some evidence for it, that global warming causes more volatile weather extremes. But that is not my argument here.

[Edit - the last chart in your post is a decent indication of global warming - the trend of the coldest recorded day is not a bad metric].
