"Why the split between the crowds and the polls ? " Polls are dependent on the sample that one uses to "represent" the opinion and expression of the larger masses. Cherry pick the right "sample" and one gets the result that one (or the MSM) wants ... and that, in turn, creates controversy, hype, doubt, dissent, and all that useful stuff that sells newspapers and attracts TV audiences and thereby makes money and improves ratings and increases advertising revenue ....
